![]() One that we came up with is: someone starts by saying any random fact about themselves, the other person will continue by repeating what the first person said and then adding a random fact of their own. When we're having a serious date, he goes to a restaurant while I stay indoors(because I never go outside these days) then we videocall and play getting to know you ice breaker games. Not by doing something else, but by simply changing the scenery and making it a little bit extra special :) I know you were probably asking for ideas of what to do other than chat, but I'm just chipping in with a way of breaking the routine, I guess. I also put on the radio, which he loved because my mother tongue is Catalan and our communication is in Spanish (he's from Mexico), but I'm teaching him the language, so it was really cool for him to hear Catalan radio stations! The fact that the destination was gorgeous felt like icing on the cake! I just put on some music when I was in the car while keeping him on the call, and it somewhat felt like we were in the same car. I once called him when I left home and drove to this beautiful viewpoint near my town. To be fair, it's also harder because of the 7 hours difference.Īnother example could be not necessarily walking somewhere, just making the setting different. He's done the same a couple of times while walking his dog, but where he lives it's not as common to go on walks, so to show me around his city he usually just sends videos and sticks to talking from his room.
